SANTA CRUZ WELCOMING NETWORK

We stand for the dignity of all people.

We are a community network dedicated to welcoming and supporting asylum seekers and other refugees.

Millions of people are forcibly displaced worldwide each year due to persecution, conflict, violence and human rights violations. While the United States has a long history of resettling those seeking asylum and refuge, dangerous political rhetoric and humanitarian breakdowns at the border have made it increasingly difficult for individuals and families to rebuild their lives in the U.S. after being forced to flee their home countries.

The Santa Cruz Welcoming Network is a 100% volunteer-run organization founded in response to these global crises. We focus on taking local action to support individuals and families who have arrived in Santa Cruz County. Since 2019, our dedicated volunteers have worked alongside key community partners to cultivate a welcoming environment for those resettling in Santa Cruz, California. Our network has grown to over 100 volunteers and we have supported more than 110 asylum seekers and other refugees. Today, our mission to accompany individuals and families seeking refuge and asylum, and to foster community solidarity, is more critical than ever.
